216492 - IPL Study - £500 Expenses

What is an IPL Study?

The purpose of the IPL study is to measure the hair count reduction in volunteers using an IPL device, in the presence vs. absence of a pre-treatment of the lotion on subjects with light blonde, red or white (leg or outer forearm hair), to establish whether the pre-treatment provides any uplift in performance of the IPL device. 

You will be asked not to shave your legs or outer forearms for a period of 5-7 days before attending.


This study starts week beginning Monday 15 July 2024.


What do I need to do in an IPL Study?

You will be required at attend the test centre 8 times over 7 weeks. You will also be given a list any restrictions before taking part. On your weekly visits to the test centre you will have your IPL treatment performed. All visits will take 1 hour and 30 minutes. Volunteers will also be required to complete a self-evaluation questionnaire at each visit.

You will remain in the test centre until each visit is complete.


General Inclusion Criteria (*some studies may have more requirements)

Male & Female

Aged 18+

You must have Blonde, Red or White, leg or outer forearm hair.


General Exclusion Criteria (*some studies may have more requirements)

o   have had prior treatment with a laser or electrolysis in treatment areas during the last 18 months

o   have had IPL treatment, epilation or waxing in treatment areas within the last 3 months.

o   have a sunburn in the regions of treatment.

o   have varicose veins.

o   use any topical therapy which might interact with the light treatment.


How much expense’s will I receive for taking part?

On completion of this study, you will receive £500 expenses in the form of a cheque in your own name.
